Spot the tourists!

San Francisco Day 5.

It was quiet weird waking up this morning, knowing that back home it was Christmas morning.  Had a moment, thinking of everyone, and then we were on our way.  We were booked for the 10am ferry to Alcatraz so had to get up and moving.

We stopped in at Hollywood Cafe for breakfast, knowing that it would be filling and quick.  We were certainly wiser in our orders and didn't order anywhere near as much food.

We started walking along the road, stopping and looking at anything of interest.  We still had a bit of time when we got to Pier 39 so we stopped and had a look at the Sealions.

We kept walking and got to Pier 33 where we were to catch the ferry.  We got a great spot, right at the front of the boat and had a lovely trip over.
Looking towards the city
Alcatraz!

Golden Gate in the distance

We had a great visit to Alcatraz.  Lauren was really interested.  Taylor's favourite things were the shops.

We tried to lock them in...but the door wouldn't shut.

After 3 hours we decided to head back to San Francisco for lunch. We got to Pier 39 and had a good look around and then decided we would go to Bubba Gumps for a late lunch.

Lauren and I shared the ribs...Mum and Bry had some too.  Delicious
The fish and chips.

Not a bad dining spot...views of Alcatraz, Golden Gate bridge etc

The girls had a go on the 2-storeyed carousel.

We then walked back, through Fishermans Wharf where the girls weren't too impressed by the smell of crabs cooking.

Crabs for sale everywhere.

The last stop for the day was Ghiradelli Square where the plan was to get one of the famous sundaes, but the queue was huge so we headed back to our room to relax for the evening.  It was really nice to sit down and take our shoes off.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! xxxx
